Sea Island Study III

On a cold and foggy December trip to Hunting Island, South Carolina I found this maritime forest and saltwater marsh void of color and life. I became enchanted with the twisted palms and pines high above the many eroded trees lying nterspersed in the sand. The potential for limited color appealed to me here, thus the depiction of soft gold and orange tones rendered in charcoal and pastel.
