Jungle Guardian

Of the 17 types of macaws, the scarlet macaw is a red, yellow and blue standout South American parrot. Living in the rainforest, it is native to south eastern Mexico, to Amazonian Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. The red macaw has a bended bill to break hard nuts and seeds, and a tongue that can clutch the portion to force it from the shell. Scarlet macaws mate for life and both males and females appear to be identical.
